2014 year 7 and 8 now OPEN

Glenmore State High School will begin enrolling current year 6 and 7 students wishing to enrol at Glenmore SHS for 2014 from the start of Term 3. To enrol at Glenmore SHS parents are encouraged to dowload an Expression of Interest (doc, 95kb) form or collect one from our office. Once the Expression of Interest is returned we will arrange an interview so that your child and you can become familiar with our staff, school policies and procedures. This will assist with making the transition to high school as smooth and successful as possible. For your son/ daughter to be a part of our transition programs they will need to have an interview with one of our Junior Secondary staff.
Year Level Coordinators Ms Ngaire Hutton (Year 7, 2013) and Mrs Collette Louttit (Year 7, 2014) will also be visiting the primary schools to help ease any worries and begin the transition for our future students. Expression of Interest forms will also be given out to students during the first transition activity that our Year Level Coordinators have planned. Contact with the primary schools to arrange this program is currently under way. There are many events planned for our transition program including the Get Set for Seven and Big Day In programs. These dates will be published as soon as available. Last year we also held a very popular Junior Secondary Disco, which was organised by the Peer Mentors and attended by enrolled Yr 6 and 7 students from the primary schools as well as the junior Secondary students from Glenmore SHS.  We are looking forward to this event again this year to help students develop socially with each other before starting High School next year.
If you have any questions about our enrolment process or about our leading “Flying Start program” (Year 7) please contact Mr Matthew Newell or one of our lovely office ladies.
Yours sincerely
Mr Matthew Newell
