Welcome Year 7

6/02/2013
As a part of the move to have all year 7 students learning in High Schools, Glenmore State High School was one of a selected few to pilot this in 2013 with the remainder of the state joining the program in 2015.

On the 29th of January, 2013, 94 year 7s walked through Glenmore High School’s gates, as they started their first day of High School. In such a monumental day for Queensland education the students were presented with a certificate and a letter from the Premier, Campbell Newman. The letter explain how the students were ready for the challenges of High School and now having greater access to more learning experiences than what may have been able to be offered in a primary school setting. The students are proud to be able to shape what year 7 will look like for other schools in our region and across the state.

At Glenmore High we are proud to be able to offer year 7 and believe that the students are up to the challenge. We feel that the creation of the Junior Secondary School will improve student’s engagement, attendance and results. We also welcome some quality experienced teachers to the school to help students transition smoothly from primary school to Junior Secondary.
Congratulations to year 7, 2013, for being a part of this adventure we look forward in sharing in your learning.
