Students with additional needs

Glenmore State High School Special Education Program (SEP) operates to meet the educational needs of students with a disability across years 7-12 in one of the following areas:
  • Intellectual Impairment (II)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD)
  • Speech-Language Impairment (SLI)
  • Hearing Impairment (HI) and
  • Vision Impairment (VI).

Special Education Programs offered at Glenmore SEP work on an inclusive education model where special education teachers and teacher aides work with class teachers to make educational adjustments to meet the learning needs of the student. Our philosophy on inclusive education is based on recognising and responding to individual differences and ensuring programs and support offered meet the individual needs of the student. Programs and support may be offered within class or through withdrawal from classes, depending on student needs as identified collaboratively with parents, class teachers and special education staff.
