The Principal and P & C Association of Glenmore State High School are proud to be able to extend to you the opportunity to take advantage of the school's student resource scheme. This scheme is authorised to operate under the Education (General Provision) Act 2006 and Department of Education, Training and Employment policy.
The scheme's major purpose is to provide an extremely cost effective and efficient strategy to parents/carers and students which:
- Reduces the heavy financial outlay for parents/carers in providing a wide variety of student resources.
- Eliminates shopping for textbooks, novels and resources.
- Gives students access to a wide range of up-to-date resources.
- Supplements consumable resources which are used to ensure real like learning experiences for our students.
- Assist in maintaining a high level of technology across the school learning environment.
- Accommodates a range of school based and workplace programs to enhance student skill development.
It is timely to reflect that the Government supplies the tuition fees and basic general foundations for the delivery of student curriculum programs. Please note, the Student Resource Scheme fees have had the cost of the Government textbook allowance deducted to reduce the total cost which parents/carers are required to pay.
Participation in the scheme is optional, however, strongly encouraged. Should you choose to not participate in the scheme, parents/carers are responsible for providing all textbooks and resources.
Additionally to the items included in the scheme, the cost of books, stationery and additional resources is the responsibility of parents/carers and students.

Glenmore State High School provide an option for families of Year 11 and 12 students to participate in a laptop hire project. This gives each senior student involved a personal one-to-one device which they will be able to take to each class and access; the school internet and network, relevant school software and programs, and IT support (if required).
Students with a hire device will be able to take their device home at the end of each day and over the school holidays, and have additional abilities to be able to join their home network, install their own programs, as well as access to social media outside of school hours.
The hire of the device will conclude upon Graduation at the completion of Year 12, or the withdrawal of enrolment at Glenmore State High School. At such time, all devices are to be returned to Glenmore State High School.
Students participating in the project will receive a Dell Latitude 3420 Upgraded Processor with extended 4 year warranty and accidental damage protection, hard carry case, USB-C charger and optical mouse. See Year 11 or 12 Student Resource Scheme Handbook for more technical details.
To participate, students and parents/carers must read, fill out and sign the
2023 SRS Participation Agreement Form - Laptop Hire and
2023 Laptop Hire Policy and Agreement, and return these forms to Student Services along with the $200 Hire Fee (payment in full) prior to receiving the device. Please note, this hire fee is a yearly charge, and the first year must be paid in full prior to receiving the device, the second year will be invoiced with all other Student Resource Scheme fees and levies.
Should individuals choose not to opt-in for the Laptop Hire Project, but:
A. Bring their own device, they will have the following additional expectations:
- They will be expected to have their device charged and capable of sustaining the students work for the entire day. They will be unable to charge the device at school. They will be unable to borrow chargers from the school.
- Their own device will have no access to the school wired or wireless network. If files from the school network are required they will have to use an intermediate method to get the files to their laptop such as logging into a school computer and copying the files to a USB drive.
- Because they are prohibited from accessing the school network, all internet access whilst at school will be via a Parent/Carer provided service. E.g. internal 4G connection or hotspot device (excluding personal mobile phones). If internet access is required the device will not be able to access any school provided caching and the Parent/Carer service will need to support the full data transfers for the entirety of the year.
- As their internet service is not provided by the school, none of the school filtering or protection will be available. Parents/Carers will be expected to provide their own filtering and protection and to monitor and police their students access and usage even during periods where they may be at school.
- They will have no direct access to the schools printing systems. If printing is required they will have to use an intermediate method to copy the file back to a school computer and print or they will have to print at home.
- Parents/Carers will be liable for software requirements as listed including purchase and installation. Where licensing agreements prevent Parents/Carers from utilising the same education licensing as the school devices, the Parents/Carers will be liable for the full amount of a consumer license.
- IT support will be limited to look and advise. School staff are unable to work on a non-school device. School staff are unable to act on behalf of Parents/Carers when dealing with suppliers of hardware, peripherals or software.
B. Do not bring their own laptop, a bank of laptops will be available from the Library for students to borrow on a daily basis. It will be the student’s responsibility to collect the laptop before school on the day they require the device, and to return it to the Library at the end of the school day. Borrowing of these laptops will be subject to availability and priority, e.g. assessments. Please note, because of this Laptop Hire Project senior classes will have limited access to school computer rooms and resources.
