The School Based Policing Program (SBPP) is a joint initiative between the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the Queensland Department of Education. The main role of the program is to establish positive relationships between police and school communities, to contribute to a safe and supportive learning environment.
SBPOs are appointed to assist the school community and police in a variety of tasks, including:
- promoting positive relationships between the school community and police.
- attending school events, functions and being involved in school life.
- promoting understanding of law/legal process and procedures, particularly in relation to young people.
- attending to police-related matters within the school community, where appropriate.
Glenmore’s SBPO is Senior Constable Brendan Brady, who further supports our students through a range of programs such as, Blue Edge and the RAGE (Re-negotiating angry and guilty emotions) program.
