2022 P&C Association AGM Update

​Dear Parents/Carers,

Following the GSHS P&C Associations AGM last week, I have great pleasure in sharing this P&C Association Update with you all.

Jo Harris, Suella Lye and myself are continuing as Treasurer, Secretary and President (respectively) again this year. Our Vice President position is currently vacant, with succession planning high on our agenda for this year.

Last year we invested heavily into our tuckshop with a range of upgrades, which we will continue to do this year with further upgrades detailed below.  

This year our targeted donations to specific areas within the school are outlined below.

School Improvement Donations

Science, Technology, English and Maths:

• STEM Garden shade umbrellas (budget $8,000)
• STEM and herb garden beautification (budget $1,000)
• Auto shop tools (budget $5,000)

The Arts:

• Home Ec downstairs classroom installation of fly screens for windows and barista door (budget $3,000)
  

PBL:

• Main entrance totems (budget $3,000)
• Student incentive vouchers (budget $1,200 Tuckshop or Uniform Shop Voucher broken down to x6 $5 vouchers weekly)

​Student Assistance
Representative Students:

• ​In accordance with our Student Representation Policy, students representing the school away from town can apply for $50 towards their costs (budget $500). Please see attached criteria and application form.
  

Bursaries:

• Yea​r 6/7 Transition bursaries x4 @ $185 being SRS fees of $100 and one uniform ($45 polo/$40 shorts)
  
• New bursaries to be announced x2 @ $185

P&C Improvements
Tuckshop (budget $12,500):

• Dishwasher, mix master, food processor, flat grill
• Stainless steel island bench drawer installation, more powerpoints, servery window
• Workstation with desk, filing cabinets and new chairs
• QKR! Setup to be finalised – electronic ordering platform

Uniform Shop (budget $2,500):

• Storage area upgrade, installation of a step ladder for the higher shelves

P&C (budget $1,000):

• To help identify staff and volunteers to both students, staff and families on site – P&C staff and volunteer shirts, aprons, badges.
• To assist with moving items around we will also invest in a collapsible flat bed trolley.

Uniform Price Increase:
Unfortunately we must increase our uniform sell prices, with new prices to come into effect from 1^st July 2022.  Prices as per table below.

Formal Uniforms: Existing formal stock will be priced at the current sell price or discounted, with new stock to be priced at the new sell prices. New formal 'bottoms' will be updated into a cooler fabric. Blazers will no longer be a part of our formal uniform, we are looking into adding a formal felt hat instead.

School Sports Wear: Existing footy shorts stock will be reduced $10 to make way for new school team sports wear.
