Newly refurbished GlenTech Auto Workshop.
The approximate $600,000 worth of infrastructure funded by the State Government, officially named GlenTech Auto Workshop by Glenmore State High School, will host a range of automotive training programs for students across the Rockhampton, Mount Morgan and Yeppoon regions.
Through partnership with Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTA Queensland) and MTA Institute (RTO No. 31529), the Glenmore State High School initiative, GlenTech Auto, will add another avenue of opportunities to the Rockhampton state high school cluster.

Glenmore State High School Principal, Brendan Shannon stated that the aim of the program is to “provide students with automotive, machinery, marine and transport related interests a future pathway, ensuring they realise and reach their potential as automotive work ready individuals."
Mr. Shannon said, “over the course of each year we will see approximately 60 students from across Rockhampton undertake, either school-based curriculum, Auto-Ready holiday programs or a Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation."
MTA Institute Operations Manager, Anthony Bonaccorso, expressed the belief that this new partnership was the missing link between schools and industry, and that he was looking forward to assisting the creation of quality and work ready individuals.
The opening was an exciting event for all involved, especially for the students enrolled in the Certificate II in Automotive Vocational Preparation for 2023, as they were presented with their new GlenTech Auto uniform which they will wear every Wednesday of the school term when they undertake onsite training in the new facility.
