Nominations are now open for the 2025 Junior and Senior Sportsperson of the Year Awards and Sporting Encouragement Award.
Students are requested to nominate themselves by supplying a list of their highest sporting achievements. For example, Queensland selection supersedes Capricornia and Rockhampton District selection.
As a school, we aim to celebrate students who excel through School Sport pathways. As such, State and National Club Sport selection is not included as part of the point-based selection criteria for the Junior and Senior Sportsperson of the Year Awards.
However, National Club Sport selection is part of the criteria for our Sporting Encouragement Award.
Junior and Senior Sportsperson of the Year Point Selection Criteria:
15 – Australian State School Sport Representative
10 – Queensland State School Sport Representative
5 – Capricornia School Sport Representative
3 – Rockhampton and District School Sport Representative
3 – Glenmore State High School Carnival Age Champion
Sporting Encouragement Award – Awarded to the student from any year level who has demonstrated sporting prowess with their potential to represent their chosen sport at a National Level.
Nomination forms are found in the listing above or can be collected from our Sports Coordinator, Mrs Fairley in the Senior Schooling Office in the Library.
All nominations must be returned to Mrs Fairley by 3pm Friday 12 September 2025.
